The 17th Annual

Cross Roads - stations of the cross from a personal viewpoint

The Stations of the Cross is a centuries-old expression of Jesus' last hours, found in churches and galleries across the globe. As this year's theme for Expressions of Faith, stations were selected and given traditional and personal titles. Artists from around the region have explored  these points in Jesus’ life from a personal perspective (from Jesus’ or current day), regardless of faith experience, tradition or upbringing.

1: Pilate Condemns Jesus to Die / condemned
2: Jesus Accepts His Cross / taking my cross
3: Simon Helps Carry the Cross / helped to carry my cross
4: Jesus Speaks to the Women  / consoling and warning
5: Jesus Is Stripped of His Garments / stripped – exposed – laid bare
6: Jesus Is Nailed to the Cross  / nailed to my cross
7: Jesus Cares for His Mother  / tending to others’ needs
8: Jesus Dies on the Cross  / dying (on my cross)

All are invited to visit and share in this special exhibition in the Gallery at Grace, regardless of  faith experience, tradition or upbringing, as we travel toward Easter.

Opening Wednesday, February 22nd, following the Ash Wednesday service, and continuing through Sunday, April 8th. A small awards ceremony will take place during the Wilmington Art Loop, Friday, March 2nd.  (5-7p.m.).
